Conchita, or the Invisible Handcuff of the Market

From time to time something happens, that confirms everything you believe (and that you can’t always persuade others of) about life, the universe, the psychology of human kind and investment bankers.

For me, it was today. A prominent member of the Dutch central bank De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), in charge of financial placements, has just been fired after it was discovered she was moonlighting as a high-class Nazi dominatrix prostitute.

Don’t be alarmed, with this second job she earns around $10,000 a week. I don’t know the average rate for one session but it seems to indicate that quite a lot of affluent people are interested.

What I also like, about « Conchita van der Waal », is the fact that she seems to indifferently define herself as a « high-class nymphomaniac » or « Nazi dominatrix ». One could see here a sort of equivalence in the financial world’s psyché but that would of course be going too far.
